Jennifer Vazquez, LCSW
Jen’s experience with grief includes having previously worked in home hospice care, sitting bedside with the dying and their families, educating regarding the dying process as well as anticipatory grief. In her private practice work, Jen continues her work with the actively dying and their families as well as grief counseling after the death of a spouse, child, parent and other loved ones. Additionally, working with those who have chronic health issues such as cancer, endocrine, rheumatic, and neurological disease. Jen is well versed in treatment of grief, chronic illness, and formally trained in structural family therapy providing the ability to see children in addition to adults. Jen is a valued and sought after speaker/educator in the field of grief and death and dying in the local community and beyond. Historically, you may recognize her for her previous work at Rutgers University School of Social Work, Stockton University Continuing Education, NASWNJ and local speaking engagements at University of Pennsylvania Hospital at Princeton, Compassionate friends and local school districts.

Jennifer (Jen) has been practicing since graduating with her MSW from Rutgers University in 2004 and has been in full time private practice since 2008. Her practice is a generalist mental health practice assisting patients with depression, anxiety and Post Traumatic Stress. Jennifer is a regionally recognized Grief Therapist expert.

Understanding The Grieving Client: Familial and Traumatic Loss Certificate
This program is authored and presented by grief expert, Jennifer Vazquez, LCSW. A series of 5 courses, Introduction to Grief Therapy: A Framework for Treating the Grieving Client; Grief and Death of a Spouse; Grief and Death of a Child; Grief and Frontline Workers; Grief and Ambiguous Loss, all designed for mental health professionals to gain a better understanding of the most common types of loss experienced by a client in private practice. Providing a tool kit of what to do for and say to a grieving client, Participants may sign up for individual courses of interest or for the entire grief series of five courses. If signing up for individual courses it is suggested participants enroll in the introductory course but not required. Participants registering for the entirety of the Grief Certificate Program: Registration for all 5 courses in the series is due by February 17, 2026. A $10 discount for each course in the series will be applied to participants registering for the series in its entirety for a total cost of $500 to complete the series. Otherwise, registration and individual course payment of $110 is due by the dates listed below for each corresponding course.
